Redline water wetter problems. January 29th 2008 at 1017 pm. Temps went from 217ish to 194 steady. Unique agent for cooling systems that doubles the wetting ability of water. As i tried to say earlier it is a surfactant which improves the efficiency of water as a coolant. Running just water can cause issues with the water pump not being lubricated. I have no problem with cooling water that was too hot but its not wrong to bring down the temperature of the water if it works sincerely daniel.
Says that there should pour a bottle into the radiator and the lower the temperature by 10 20 degrees. Now i run about 15 20 coolant and the rest distilled water with the proper redline mixture. Water wetter works by reducing the surface tension of the watercoolant mixture. It improves the heat transfer capabilities of the water. Attention red line oil customers. Water wetter was designed for race cars that are not allowed to run coolant because it can be pretty slick when spilled.
And a water wetter additive agent will not help nor cure this problem the water wetter is not there to lower the coolant temperature. Does anyone have any experience with redline water wetter. The problem with water is that it boils at 212 deg. What i find is that they do not make a substatial difference in lower the overall temperature but more importantly they make the cooling system more effective overall they most importantly help reduce the hot spots that cause failures in. I then drained and did a 5050 mix and still the same so i went and got this water wetter. Using mostly coolant concentrate and some water my car would overheat.
