In older automobiles the radiator was made of copper and aluminum. Maybe thats why it is taking so long to clear it out.

Oil in radiator overflow. If its not the cooler then it could be passages in the head which are allowing oil to tget in the coolant or head gasket concerns or damage in the block. If oil got into the coolant because of an oil cooler leak there is a possibility that coolant got into the oil as well. Oil in coolant reservoir could be a minor leakage result or serious problem which could be checked in time if you take immediate action. Excess coolant is captured in the overflow tank so it wont leak. While running oil pressure should exceed radiator pressure but when cooling down i am not so sure. They should not be mixed.
