Jdm ej205 non avcs swap. I bought mine with 45000 miles on it. They are listing it as a direct swap for all usdm 02 05 wrx and 05 92x. What about single vs dual avcs. Ej205 swap to jdm ej205. 1999 2000 version 56 non avcs ej205 this engine requires a complete swap of most of the parts from a usdm 20 wrx including the intake manifold exhaust cam and crank gears etc. She was purring like a mean boxer engine. If you are doinghave done an engine swap with an usdm 2002 2005 wrx into another chassis like a 25rs the same rules apply. But there are some non acvs jdm engines. This is not the case.
I just know it was available on almost all of the jdm ej205s. I had it running already but the clutch ended up frying on me. You need a few jdm spec parts like plug wires and power steering hoses from an edm model but pretty much its easy to get that stuff the old non avcs ej205 with the plug wires has the same iac system the same tps the same cam timing systems and the same ecu system jecs. The japanese wrx models use the ej207 from 19992001 except the 5 door wagon which also uses the ej205. These engines can be used in place of a usdm ej205 but this requires extensive modification. Alot of people just leave it disconnected because apparently its a huge hassle unless you just throw money at a tuner and say fix it.
If a 2001 2005 jdm wrx engine is labeled as non avcs it is actually a v56 as seen in the listing below. This engine series is used for wrx models in the world market outside japan as of 1999. Any vehicle that is wired for a usdm ej205 can use the 2001 2005 jdm ej205 and ej207 longblock but will require the addition of avcs wiring and an avcs compatible ecu.
