I had managed to mix these up somehow and made the outlets operate off the switch. I dont have any gfis in the room and checked the others in the house that are ok.

He did say no power was coming to the switch according to his multimeter. The black wire that is hot is the power to the switch. In my bedroom i have a dual switch.
